We are constantly looking for ways to stimulate Zac. New activities, especially if they involve fun make him very happy. For those of you that don’t know Zac’s miracle story, he is profoundly disabled and has been confined to a wheelchair for over 10 years now. To read his story click Here. In our effort to do something unique and fun we decided Zac’s doing a 5K next month. Crazy right?

As you know, or at least you will after you read his story, Zac can’t run a 5K, but as a family, for his birthday which falls on St.Patrick’s Day we have decided to take Zac and do the YMCA St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run/walk on March 14, 2020.
Zac will joyfully drive his wheelchair along the greenbelt with hundreds of others. We aren’t looking to win a race, just have a new adventure in the great outdoors. It’s going to be so much fun.

This Will Be Our First Time Doing a 5K Together!
Zac loves to be stimulated and do new things. We have never tried anything like this before and we are hoping this maybe the first of many fun runs in our future. There is nothing better than getting out in nature. Zac shines when he is in the sun surrounded by trees and family. He loves to watch small children, they make him giggle and I have been told there will be many kids at the fun run. They are going to make us start at the rear, and that’s just fine with us!
Awfully Early in The Morning For Us!
The race starts at 10 AM. We will have to get moving very early for us to make it there on time. Zac, is a night owl so we are working on going to bed a little bit earlier each day.
If you decide to go to the St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run and want to say hi to Zac, please remember to approach him from the front and make eye contact with him. He can’t see to the left and startles easily but would love to see some old friends.
I am making T-Shirts so we will be easy to spot! Our whole group will be wearing them!

This is going to be so much fun!! Throw on some green and running/walking shoes and get involved. We might even find ourselves some green beer!
We will of course take lots of pictures and I will update you about our first experience doing a fun run together.
Zac’s Aunt Linda Started A Fundraiser
We live on a very tight fixed income, caring for Zac and trying to make ends meet. Zac’s Aunt Linda started a fundraiser to help us buy a van.
