How to start a blog and find joy amid chaos might just be for you!
I had so much chaos going on taking care of four disabled adults and the pet rescue that I had no way to really express myself. I had to leave my career to care for everyone, and had very little contact with the outside world anymore. The knowledge I gained on this journey has been useful for others and blogging gave me away to share it! Blogging also connected me with others and now I have new and wonderful relationships with other bloggers and people coping with the chaos of life.

10 Step Check List to get started – How to start a blog and find joy amid Chaos
- Sign up with Bluehost Here
- Use WordPress.org – If you already have a blog with another carrier Bluehost offers one click transfer (it isn’t quite that easy but is simple to do).
- Pick a theme – make sure it it easy to read and has space for wonderful pictures your adventures, family, pets or whatever else enhances your article.
- Create a new and beautiful website
- Sign up for Constant Contact to Manage Your email list, online newsletters etc. Click here for Constant Contacts FREE 60 day trial.
- Start writing blogs, find guest authors and fun information for your membership, community and on-line followers.
- Educate yourself. Make sure you are giving out unique, accurate and good information.
- Publish your website and/or blog.
- Start finding affiliates, sponsors, advertisers and attach to your blog. (See below for details on affiliates).
- If you want to take your blog to the next level, see below the two classes I took. Both classes really made a big difference on my blog, confidence and marketing skills. Investing in yourself can put you on the fast track to making passive income much quicker and will improve your blog.
When Starting a Blog
When starting a blog, or if you already have a blog, but you are not on WordPress.org you will want to make the change. Other companies and formats like Wix.com, WordPress.com, godaddy, or other self-hosting websites own your content and email lists. With WordPress.org you have more creative freedom and better SEO – Search Engine Optimization. WordPress.org is also key to optimizing the monetizing of your blog. And best yet you own it.
To make the change or to get started you will want to sign up with Bluehost.com. They are very inexpensive between $2.75 to $7.99 a month for hosting. They have a one click transfer to help make the change if you already have a blog/website. You can transfer your current URL so people will still be able to find you.

Advertising has changed so much over the last decade. Just about all stores, outlets, Amazon, Walmart, Target, service providers, etc. are using bloggers to carry their messages to the people. We have become such a digital world that bloggers make billions for advertisers everyday while making income for themselves.
Now That You Have Your Blog Up, You Are Ready to Monetize!
Once your blog and website set-up are complete and operating you will want to sign up with companies that match you and your mission. Advertisers are using bloggers so often there are umbrella groups that manage the advertisers. Signing up is free, never pay to be an influencer, blogger or advertiser, NEVER.
Examples: We display ads for Amazon, chewy.com, Clothing stores, Kingkanine CBD Oil, Dollar Tree and more. It is not only the big stores, small start up and boutique companies also use bloggers to spread their message. Find advertisers that match you, your niche and mission.
My favorite company is ShareAsale. They are the easiest to work with, their linking is simple, and I use them the most. They have thousands of companies under their umbrella from food delivery services, pet supplies, toys, furniture, clothing, designing, Zulilly, travel, pet food the list is endless. You make commission on the clicks and/or sales through your links and it doesn’t cost the customer or you anymore. It’s a Win-Win! There are other affiliate umbrella companies, find the one that is best for you.
